On Monday, Cornealious "Mike" Anderson officially became a free man after 14 years in limbo. In 2000, Anderson was sentenced to 13 years in prison for robbery, but due to a clerical error, he was never imprisoned. During that time, he started construction businesses, married, and coached youth football. Just as his sentence was supposed to end, the Missouri Department of Corrections realized its error and jailed him last year. Judge Terry Lynn Brown lauded Anderson's "exemplary" behavior during his 13 years of freedom before the error was discovered and granted him credit for the 4,794 days between when he was convicted and when he was arrested. "You are a good man and a changed man,” said Brown.
