Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn announced Thursday that she will run for Senate. The Tennessee congresswomen hopes to replace retiring Sen. Bob Corker in 2018. She announced her candidacy in an online video, saying she will run to make the Senate less dysfunctional and ineffective. “I know the left calls me a wingnut or a knuckle-dragging conservative. And you know what, I say that’s alright, bring it on,” Blackburn said. Her announcement came less than an hour after her fellow Gov. Bill Haslam, also a Republican, announced he will not seek the open seat.
