She’s back! In court, that is. Nine years after going to prison for insider trading (without speaking under oath), Martha Stewart appeared in New York State Supreme Court Tuesday to testify on which retailers should be able to sell her goods. Macy’s brought the lawsuit against Stewart and JCPenney for allegedly violating a contract with Macy’s when the lifestyle queen made a deal to sell merchandise at JCPenney’s. The trial was filled with interesting quotes (Stewart said that critics used to say, “Oh, poor people don’t do their laundry as often as rich people, so they don’t want light colors.”) and odd moments—she snapped pictures of the courtroom during a break.
