The 82nd Annual Academy Awards started singing as How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris took the stage joking, "I know. What am I doing here?" The former Emmy and Tony host kicked off the show from the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles and then introduced the ceremony's co-hosts Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin. The two comedians gave a rundown of the evening's nominees, including their It's Complicated co-star, Meryl Streep, who holds the record for most nominations as an actress. The pair of funnymen also poked fun at Avatar director James Cameron with accompanying 3-D special effects, but held their tongue when it came to George Clooney. "Take a good look at us guys… this is you in five years," Martin and Baldwin said to Zac Efron and Taylor Lautner. As expected, Christoph Waltz won Best Supporting Actor for his role as a Nazi in Inglorious Basterds.
