Tea party darling Marco Rubio cruised to victory in Tuesday's Senate primary in Florida, and he will face independent incumbent Governor Charlie Crist and Democratic Rep. Kendrick Meek in November. Rubio, a former speaker of the state House, forced Crist out of the running despite initially trailing him by double-digits. On the Democratic side, Meek beat out billionaire investor Jeff Greene in a bitter contest, with Meek saying Greene made millions off of the decimated real estate market and Greene calling Meek corrupt. If Meek wins in Nov., he will be the state’s first black senator. In the race for governor, Alex Sink, the state’s chief financial officer, won the Democratic nomination, and she will face business Rick Scott, who upset Attorney General Bill McCollum on the Republican side.
