Australian officials announced that an “object of interest” had been recovered that may offer clues on missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. The object was found near the town of Augusta, which is around 186 miles south of Perth on Australia's west coast. Australian Transport Safety Bureau Chief Commissioner Martin Dolan said the object is sheet metal with rivets. “It’s sufficiently interesting for us to take a look at the photographs,” said Dolan, but he added “The more we look at it, the less excited we get.” Flight 370 has been missing since March 8. No trace of the plane or the 239 people on board has been found.
