Vice President-elect Mike Pence is taking over Donald Trump’s transition team from New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, according to a New York Times report. Trump wants to more quickly assemble a team after his surprise victory in the presidential election on Tuesday night, and wants Pence, who has more Washington experience than Christie, to take charge of the effort. Christie, along with Rudy Giuliani and retired Gen. Mike Flynn, will serve as vice chairs of the transition team. “Will soon be making some very important decisions on the people who will be running our government,” Trump tweeted on Friday morning. In a separate statement, Christie said of the changes, “I want to thank President-Elect Trump for the opportunity to continue to help lead.”
