Two years after its incredible landing, the “Miracle on the Hudson” plane has finally reached North Carolina. The wingless plane traveled on the ground this week from New Jersey, making its final stop at the Carolina Aviation Museum on Friday. Hundreds gathered along roads to watch the plane go by, while others stopped where it was parked at night to touch its side. The plane was once US Airways Flight 1549 bound for Charlotte, which was forced to land in New York’s Hudson River—and all 155 passengers and crew were saved. The flight’s captain, Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, traveled to Charlotte to see the plane once again. “It’s a reaffirmation of life, ultimately,” he said.
