The studio that brought us Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Clerks, and Sex, Lies and Videotape shut the doors of its New York and Los Angeles offices Thursday. While the company has put out a host of cult classics, it has suffered a long and painful demise. Harvey and Bob Weinstein founded the picture house over three decades ago, and the last has been the worst it’s seen. Ever since its much-hyped sale to Disney, Miramax has failed to produce box-office hits (though Tsotsi and The Diving Bell and the Butterfly earned critical acclaim). Harvey Weinstein tells The Wrap that he feels “very nostalgic,” but is comforted by the fact that “the movies made on my and my brother Bob’s watch will live on.”
