University of Missouri’s president responded to protests over racial issues on the school's campus on Sunday, making no mention of stepping down as calls for his resignation continued to grow. “It is clear to all of us that change is needed, and we appreciate the thoughtfulness and passion which have gone into the sharing of concerns,” University President Tim Wolfe said. The statement comes a day a group of black football players said they would not practice or play until Wolfe resigns or is removed. There have been numerous instances of racial targeting on campus recently, including someone shouting the N-word at members of the Legion of Black Collegians and the smearing of a swastika in feces on a bathroom wall. Also Sunday, Head Coach Gary Pinkel backed his players’ decision. “The Mizzou Family stands as one,” he tweeted.
