Not everyone cares about endearing themselves to their audiences, apparently: Steve Levitan, the co-creator and executive producer of ABC’s Modern Family—a show that is particularly popular on Hulu—has taken to Twitter to trash reports that Hulu is preparing a $2 billion IPO. “Some estimate Hulu IPO could bring in $2Bil. What will the content providers get? Zero. What is Hulu without content? An empty jukebox,” he wrote. Levitan has previously complained that too many of his show’s viewers were tuning in on platforms, like Hulu, that aren’t fully monetized. "We're making it far too easy to watch it on other mediums and not getting proper credit for it,” he said. “If we weren't on Hulu and ABC.com, why don't we try that? ... I've actively lobbied to look at the big picture."
