Talk about monkey business: In the Tampa Bay area of Florida, a rhesus monkey is on the loose. The monkey fell into a woman's backyard pool, made off with grapefruit from her backyard tree, got into trash bins, scaled apartment complex walls, and evaded capture in three counties while treating tranquilizer darts like morning coffee. The wiley monkey, which is thought either to have escaped its unpermitted owner or been separated from a wild troupe in an Ocala-area state park, has been on the lam for a year. According to wildlife trapper Vernon Yates, it is "very, very street wise" and "knows to check traffic" and "look both ways so he doesn't get hit by cars." So far, the public is on the monkey's side; he's got 19,000+ fans on Facebook rooting for his continued escape.
