Disease-carrying mosquitoes may be spreading to new locations at a greater frequency than in prior years, The New York Times reported Thursday. The disease-tracking website ProMED-mail has posted a dozen such reports—mostly in the United States—of mosquitoes spreading diseases in counties they had not previously been in. Aedes aegypti—which spreads yellow fever, Zika, dengue, and chikungunya—was recently discovered in some California and Nevada locations.
