A Houston mother is facing capital murder charges in the drowning deaths of her 7-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter. Sheborah Thomas, 30, was charged late Sunday with murder of Orayln “Ray Ray” Thomas and Kahana Thomas after she is believed to have drowned the children Friday and disposed of their bodies under a neighbor’s house. Officials said Thomas admitted it “matter-of-factly” to an individual who was helping her pack up her house. “This is the type of stuff that you see on TV,” the children’s aunt said. “To actually feel it yourself is devastating. It’s hurtful. It’s ridiculous. They were just innocent, growing kids.” Houston’s Child Protective Services branch said it was involved with the family before, but did not specify in what capacity. It pledged a “top-to-bottom review.”
