Alexei Navalny, the opposition leader running for mayor of Moscow, probably won't win the seat, but he had a strong enough showing that analysts say it could spell trouble for the Kremlin. Incumbent Sergei Sobyanin held a big enough lead Sunday night that he was expected to avoid a runoff with Navalny, who was challenging the vote count because of irregularities. Independent observers also believed Sobyanin didn't have enough votes to be reelected outright. Projected to get about 32 percent of the vote, Navalny said he will call upon his supporters to protest if his concerns aren't addressed. Navalny was recently sentenced to five years in prison after being convicted of embezzlement. Many saw the prosecution as the Kremlin's attempts to silence him.
