The man who was detained last week in a terror scare near the Pentagon may also be responsible for a series of shootings targeting government buildings last year, says the Associated Press. Yonathan Melaku, who was arrested near the Pentagon last week with a suspicious backpack and a notepad with scribblings like “Taliban rules,” has been linked by ballistics evidence to the attacks last year, which targeted the Marine Corps museum twice, the Pentagon twice, and a Marine recruiting station. No one was hurt in any of the attacks, which merely caused property damage. Melaku, 22, is a naturalized U.S. citizen from Ethiopian and a Marine Reservist. He is not believed to be linked to any terrorist group.
