One of the most shocking allegations of phone hacking at Rupert Murdoch’s shuttered News of the World may be ending in a massive settlement. The family of Milly Dowler, the young murdered girl whose voicemail was hacked by reporters after she went missing, has been offered a settlement worth more than £2 million ($3.1 million), News Corp. confirmed Monday. Murdoch himself met with the Dowler clan in July, apologizing to them in person. World had previously made a six-figure settlement to actress Sienna Miller, among other payouts.
