Eight months after former Desperate Housewives star Nicollette Sherdian sued the show’s creator and production companies for $20 million, the actress has decided to drop the key claims she originally made, according to Radar Online. Though Sheridan alleged assault and battery, emotional distress, gender violence, and wrongful termination against creator Marc Cherry, Touchstone Television Productions, ABC Studios, and ABC Entertainment in the April lawsuit, on Friday she dropped the damaging charges of physical injury and emotional distress. Now, the defense is no longer requesting Sheridan undergo both psychiatric and physical examinations. Both the defense and the prosecution agreed and the case will continue without those causes of action, barring the judge’s signoff. In the new papers Sheridan filed, the actress stands by the claims, but says she dropped them in effort to streamline the case.
