Remember those complaints about the Facebook movie not having enough strong female characters? Bloomberg reports that while most of the social network’s 800 million users are female, the board of directors is composed of seven men. Other companies in the Internet industry have at least one female director, like Google and LinkedIn. A survey of Fortune 500 companies says that organizations with more than three women on the board did better than those with fewer from 2005 to 2009. As Facebook files for a $5 billion IPO, critics say that having no women directors is an odd disconnect for a company that claims to be forward looking.
