North Korea’s deputy UN ambassador, Kim In Ryong, on Monday blamed the death of Kim Jong Nam on the U.S. and South Korea. He told a news conference, “from A to Z, this case is the product of reckless moves of the United States and South Korean authorities.” He said the two nations are trying to ruin the North’s image and to tear down its social system. Kim Jong Nam, the estranged half-sibling to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, was killed at Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur airport on Feb. 13, after he was attacked by two women who allegedly smeared his face with a toxic nerve agent. Kim Jong Nam’s death, said Ambassador Kim, “has not yet been clearly identified, but the United States and the South Korean authorities are groundlessly blaming the DPRK.”
