Rush Worried About Radical ‘Man-child’ Obama
Any guess as to whom Rush Limbaugh thinks is an immature, narcissistic man-child who is purposefully destroying the private sector of the economy? That would be President Obama, as described to Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday.
White House Strikes Back at Rush
Of course Bob Schieffer was not going to let White House adviser David Axelrod go without addressing the onslaught of criticism from Rush Limbaugh. On Face the Nation, Axelrod hit back, dismissing the verbal attacks from the “entertainer,” and saying that it’s a “surreal day when you’re getting lectures from Rush Limbaugh.”
Carville: Reagan's Big Tent Has Collapsed
Moderate New York Republican Dede Scozzafava’s decision to leave the race in New York's 23rd Congressional District has caused a bit of a rift in the Republican Party. On State of the Union, James Carville describes the surprise announcement as a sign that “Ronald Reagan’s big tent” has collapsed in upstate New York, and now that it’s destroyed, someone can go “throw it out in Lake Ontario somewhere.” Mary Matalin’s silent reaction is priceless.
David Plouffe Takes a Swipe at Fox News
Former Obama campaign manager David Plouffe has a new book out called The Audacity to Win, stealing a bit of Sarah Palin’s literary thunder—at least for now—and there’s already been a few interesting tidbits to emerge, including Obama “seriously” considering Hillary Clinton for vice president. On Meet the Press, Plouffe chimed in on the neverending Fox News-White House battle, taking a few jabs playing down the network’s influence and claiming that during the election it was a “24-hour propaganda channel for the McCain campaign.”
Rush: Obama Doesn't Care About Afghanistan
Here’s more of Limbaugh on Fox News Sunday. The topic is Afghanistan and Limbaugh’s argument is that the reason Obama is taking so long to make decisions about the war is that he doesn’t care about it. Side note about this interview: Whether or not one agrees with Limbaugh, wouldn’t it be nice to see an Obama official on Fox News argue these points? Don’t blame Fox News for this one; the White House has refused to make anyone available to the network.
Timothy Geithner Dodges Tax Increase Question
Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner was optimistic on the economy following the recent release of strong GDP numbers. But in this appearance on Meet the Press, he also repeatedly dodged a question from a frustrated David Gregory on how the administration plans on dealing with the sinking deficit. No new taxes? Not yet.
And the One Thing George Will and Al Sharpton Agree on Is…
Has Obama delivered on his promise of change? He sure has, if we’re to believe George Will and Al Sharpton. Will somewhat dourly acknowledges that the world does seem to like us more and Sharpton says, probably for the last time, “I agree with George.”
McLaughlin Group Prediction Segment Once Again Worth Watching
Of course prognostication is a main reason McLaughlin Group aficionados tune in, but lately those “the next man on the moon will be Chinese!” moments have been few and far between. Not so this week, and the Philip Roth fans among us were especially happy to note the host’s prediction about the next winner of the Nobel Prize for literature.
