Shock-rocker Ted Nugent finally apologized Friday, a month after calling President Barack Obama a "subhuman mongrel." "I do apologize—not necessarily to the president—but on behalf of much better men than myself," he said in an interview with conservative radio host Ben Ferguson. Nugent made the derogatory remark in a Jan. 17 interview with Guns.com, but the issue resurfaced this week because he was campaigning for Texas GOP gubernatorial candidate and state attorney general Greg Abbott. Rand Paul tweeted this week that Nugent should apologize, saying that his "derogatory description of President Obama is offensive and has no place in politics." But Nugent only said that he was apologizing "for using the streetfighter terminology of 'subhuman mongrel,' instead of just using more understandable language, such as 'violator of his oath to the Constitution.'"
