The New York Commission on Human Rights outlined new policies in a document issued on Monday including the requirement that employers use people's preferred gender pronouns when addressing them. This includes specific gender-neutral pronouns like ze and hir. Additionally it states that requiring different dress codes for people based on gender expressions, like having men wear ties in order to be served at restaurants, is illegal.
