As the Democrats prepare for a thumping at the ballot box on Tuesday, President Obama has appealed to lawmakers in both parties to put hyperpartisanship aside regardless of the outcome on Election Day. "I know that we're in the final days of a campaign. So it's not surprising that we're seeing this heated rhetoric. That's politics," Obama said in his weekly radio address, adding, "But when the ballots are cast and the voting is done, we need to put this kind of partisanship side—win, lose or draw." House Republican leader John Boehner had recently commented that “this is not the time for compromise,” and added that defeating Obama in 2012 should be the Republicans’ primary goal moving forward.
