President Obama said Friday that a no-fly zone over Libya is still an option, and said he has “not taken any options off the table at this point.” Obama said the world is “tightening the noose” around embattled Libyan leader, Col. Muammar Gaddafi. He also dismissed the statement made by his chief intelligence officer James Clapper on Thursday, saying that Clapper’s comment about how Gaddafi will prevail was a “hard-headed assessment about military capability” and not about policy. “I don’t think anybody disputes that Gaddafi has more firepower than the opposition,” Obama said. Meanwhile, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said Friday he is sending a special envoy to Libya to try to end the violence and ensure humanitarian aid is distributed properly.
