President Obama held a forum on women and the economy at the White House Friday, discussing the efforts his adminsitration has made to enhance the lives of American women and girls, including his Fair Pay Act, loans to female business owners, and cuts to preventative health-care costs for women. To resounding applause, he says, it's safe to say "Congress would get more done if there were more women in Congress. That's almost guaranteed." He notes the difficulty he's experienced lately making progress with legislation that benefits women. "When something like the Violence Against Women Act," for example, "is suddenly called into question, that makes no sense."
