After snubbing US media by granting his first presidential interview to Arabic network Al Arabiya, Obama gave NBC's Matt Lauer a pre-Super Bowl sitdown on Sunday. Asked how it feels to be president, Obama spoke of "sobering" moments including "having to sign letters for troops who have died and sending letters to their family." Lauer also questioned Obama on Iraq withdrawal (substantial troops will be home for Super Bowl 44), the stimulus ("the important thing is getting it passed"), and his daughters (adjusting well to their new school). Though Obama favors the Steelers for tonight's win, he laughed at Lauer's characterization of the Cardinals' "audacity of hope." Obama laughed again when Lauer asked if he could touch the president's famous Blackberry. Hey, at least Obama got Matt's name right this time.
