The country’s biggest anti-capitalist movement would like to get some capitalist protection. Occupy Wall Street demonstrators in New York filed on Oct. 24 to trademark their name with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The group says it would like to use the phrase to sell clothing and bags, and to use on periodicals, newsletters and websites. But there are other groups applying for the same thing. Arizona-based Fer-Eng Investments applied for the trademark on the same day, but is not in any way affiliated with Occupy Wall Street. On Oct. 18, a Robert Maresca also filed to use "Occupy Wall St,” but with the word "street" abbreviated.
