The estate of an unarmed black man shot and killed by a Oklahoma police officer has sued her for excessive force and racially biased policing. Tulsa officer Betty Shelby killed Terence Crutcher last year while he stood outside his vehicle stopped in the middle of a road. Shelby was charged with first-degree manslaughter charges but acquitted in May. The lawsuit seeks $75,000 in damages and an independent investigation into Crutcher’s death.
