The most unapologetically racist police commissioner in America has resigned. Robert Copeland, 82, of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire stepped down from his post after receiving flak for publicly calling President Obama the N-word and refusing to apologize. After a local resident initially called Copeland out for using the slur, he said in an email “I believe I did use the ‘N’ word in reference to the current occupant of the Whitehouse [sic]. For this, I do not apologize — he meets and exceeds my criteria for such.” Not only did local residents start calling for his resignation last week, but so did both of the state’s senators and Governor Maggie Hassan.
