Oliver Stone Defends Harvey Weinstein, Gets Called Out for Groping

Model Carrie Stevens came forward Thursday night to accuse Oliver Stone of groping her at a party after the director came to Harvey Weinstein’s defense amid mounting sexual-assault allegations. “When I heard about Harvey, I recalled Oliver walking past me & grabbing my boob as he walked out the front door of a party. Two of a kind!” Stevens wrote on Twitter. Her tweet came after Stone spoke earlier Thursday regarding the growing Weinstein scandal. When asked for his take at the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea, Stone said, “I believe a man shouldn’t be condemned by a vigilante system. It’s not easy what he’s going through, either.” He went on to say “the right thing to do” is to “wait and see” whether the allegations turn out to be true, describing the recent allegations against Weinstein as “gossip.” Stone, who has teamed up with the Weinstein Company but not with Harvey Weinstein personally, also made headlines in 2012 after he appeared to grope actress Salma Hayek’s breasts on the red carpet.
