One of two Pennsylvania police officers is dead after being shot early Thursday in a reported “ambush” when they responded to reports of a domestic-violence situation, state police said. Trooper Melinda Bondarenka said the officers were met with gunfire immediately when they arrived at the scene. The two Canonsburg officers, who were shot about 3:15 a.m. by a man reported to still be on the loose, have not been identified yet. Schools in the immediate vicinity were delayed or canceled due to the heavy police presence in the aftermath of the incident.
