Police in Oregon say a man walked into a grocery store holding the severed head of his mother before stabbing a store clerk. The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Joshua Webb, has been booked on charges of murder and attempted murder for the killing of 59-year-old Tina Marie Webb, his mother, and the stabbing of 66-year-old Michael Wagner. No details were given on Wagner’s injuries, but police said he is expected to survive. The incident occurred in Clackamas County, not far from Portland, on Sunday, though the identity of the victims was confirmed only on Monday. Webb was subdued and arrested after allegedly attacking Wagner, and police later made the grisly discovery of his mother’s body at the family’s home in Colton. A motive for the crime has not yet been determined. Webb’s father was quoted by the Associated Press as saying his son “seemed normal” prior to the killing.
