What is it they say about marriages of convenience? Orthodox Rabbi Yehuda Levin, who helped craft New York gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino’s remarks at Levin’s temple in Brooklyn, broke with Paladino Wednesday after the candidate apologized for his remarks about homosexuality. Levin said Paladino “folded like a cheap camera” because of the controversy surrounding the comments, and that he no longer supports Paladino’s candidacy. “Will we see you next year with your daughter at that gay pride march?” Levin asked. Paladino had criticized Democratic candidate Andrew Cuomo for taking his daughters to New York’s annual gay pride parade, as well as saying children are “brainwashed” into thinking homosexuality is acceptable. After a storm of controversy followed his comments, Paladino apologized over his “poorly chosen” remarks, and said he would “fight for all gay New Yorkers” if elected.
