Legendary Italian-born film producer Dino De Laurentiis has passed away at the age of 91. Though small in stature, De Laurentiis earned a great deal of critical acclaim early in his career producing the Federico Fellini films La Strada (1956) and Nights of Cabiria (1957), which won back-to-back Oscars for Best Foreign Language Film. De Laurentiis dreamed bigger, producing the epic War and Peace, starring Audrey Hepburn and Henry Fonda. After moving to New York with his family, De Laurentiis found great success with a trio of films: Serpico, Death Wish, Three Days of the Condor, and a 1976 remake of King Kong, starring then-unknown model Jessica Lange. He later turned Arnold Schwarzenegger into an international superstar with the Conan films. He is survived by five children, as well as his third wife, Martha. One of his daughters, Giada, is a celebrity chef.
