A plane in Pakistan has crashed on its way to Islamabad carrying more than 40 people, Pakistan International Airlines said in a statement. The country’s civil aviation authority, however, reports the number as 47 people. The plane lost contact with the control tower after departing the northern town of Chitral. Laiq Shah, a senior police official, said the aircraft appears to have gone down in a mountainous region. “Rescue teams are reaching the scene of the crash, and then we will know more,” said aviation authority spokesman Pervez George.
