It’s a safe bet that South Korea wouldn’t be thrilled to see Sarah Palin run for president in 2012. In an interview with Glenn Beck, the former Alaska governor mixed up North and South Korea, saying, “Obviously we gotta stand with our North Korean allies. We are bound by treaties.” Later, she correctly identified North Korea when she said, “We aren't having a lot of faith that the White House is gonna come out with a strong enough policy to sanction what it is that North Korea is gonna do.” (In the book Game Change, the authors claimed that Palin did not know the difference between the separate nations.) U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon called North Korea’s recent shelling of South Korea, which killed two civilians and two marines, one of the “gravest incidents” since the Korean War.
