When is Palin Incorporated going to announce its IPO? Sarah Palin and daughter Bristol Palin have filed applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to trademark their own names. Sarah’s form says she seeks the patent to protect her intellectual-property rights when selling “information about political elections,” while Bristol, who hauls in $15,000 to $30,000 per speaking engagement, said she wants the patent on her name for “education and entertainment services, namely, providing motivational speaking in the field of life choices.” The trademarks will help the Palin clan fight back against impostors, and prevent their likenesses from being used on items like bobblehead dolls and sex toys. For a politician, said one lawyer, the move is "certainly not typical, nor in my experience is it common."
