Paranormal Activity 2 Scares Up a Win

A horrific sequel brought in hordes of moviegoers this weekend, topping the box-office rankings with $41.5 million. Paranormal Activity 2 comes after last year’s much-talked-about predecessor, which was a relatively low-budget film directed by Tod Williams. Williams returns from his success with a sequel just as horrifying—but still visually simplistic. Other weekend contenders included Jackass 3-D, which brought in $21.6 million, and Red, which earned $15 million for a total of $43 million.
