The Pentagon is upset about 15,000 outstanding classified documents WikiLeaks has obtained about the Afghan war—and said Thursday that it would be the “height of irresponsibility” for the whistle-blower site to publish them. “It is hard to believe anything WikiLeaks says, but our position on this matter should be well-known by now to everyone,” said Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell. The Defense Department worries, most of all, that this leak—like the first one, which added up to 70,000 documents in total—could potentially put U.S troops in danger. “It would compound a mistake that has already put far too many lives at risk,” said Morrell. No evidence has been released that suggests any Afghan killings have been linked to the first document dump.
