Facebook's bad PR keeps getting worse. Photos of a drugged 16-year-old girl being raped repeatedly at a weekend party just outside of Vancouver, Canada, have made their way onto Facebook, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said Thursday. The attack happened at a rave last Friday on a property east of Vancouver, where the girl was dosed with the date-rape drug. “It's essentially one male having intercourse and when he's done, another one participates—that's a gang rape,” said an inspector. “It's a sexual assault, it's an unwanted assault taking advantage of someone who is under the influence of this drug.” According to the inspector, the “violent” assault left the girl with undisclosed injuries, and she didn’t remember the incident until several days later when she discovered the photos taken by onlookers posted to Facebook. The RCMP have been trying to convince Facebook users to take down the photos, but many keep reposting them. “What happened after this incident and continues to happen is beyond disgusting,” a lead investigator on the case said in a statement. “These photos are child pornography… The posting and viewing of the photos is continuing to victimize this young girl and her family and needs to stop.” So far, no arrests have been made in connection to the rape.
