The Somali pirates are at it again, this time firing small arms and rocket-propelled grenades, eventually hijacking an Italian-flagged oil tanker in the Indian Ocean on Tuesday, according to the European Union’s anti-piracy task force. After a skiff carrying five suspected pirates attacked the vessel, exchanging heavy fire with the crew, the pirates then boarded the MV Savina Caylyn, an 873-foot, 104,255-ton tanker that was on its way to Malaysia from Sudan. The ship, owned by Naples-based Fratelli D’Amato SpA shipbuilders, had five Italian and 17 Indian crew members.
