Iceland is (sort of) ready to welcome NSA leaker Edward Snowden. Reuters reports that Olafur Vignir Sigurvinsson, a director at a company that processed payments for WikiLeaks, says that a private jet has been readied in China for Snowden and could fly him to Iceland tomorrow if the Icelandic Interior Ministry approves. "We need to get confirmation of asylum and that he will not be extradited to the U.S. We would most want him to get a citizenship as well," Sigurvinsson said. Snowden has previously mentioned Iceland as a possible refuge and an Icelandic WikiLeaks spokesman said earlier this week that he had been approached about seeking asylum by a middleman on behalf of Snowden.
