David Plouffe, the campaign strategist from President Obama’s 2008 campaign, is expected to join the White House early next year as the replacement for David Axelrod, who will leave in order to begin working on Obama’s re-election. “I think he will come, which is huge,” Axelrod tells National Journal. Obama is also searching for a replacement for Larry Summers and is hoping the Senate confirms his choice to head the Office of Management and Budget, Jacob Lew.
