Although Roman Polanski's lawyers argue the director already served his time, Judge Peter Espinoza ruled today that he must return to the U.S. to be sentenced. Espinoza ruled "in defense of the integrity of the justice system," Polanski must return. His decision will likely be appealed. Polanski pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor in 1977, and fled to France. He was arrested on a U.S. warrant last year and spent more than 60 days in a Swiss jail before being transferred to house arrest in his Swiss vacation home Dec 4.
