A Roanoke, Virginia, man was arrested Saturday night after allegedly making a bomb threat at a White House security checkpoint. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, Sean Patrick Keoughan, 29, was driving a car that had been reported as stolen in Virginia when he pulled up to a vehicle entry point to the White House complex on E Street. Keoughan then exited the vehicle and told a nearby Metro officer that “there’s a bomb in the trunk,” according to the police report. No bomb was found in the 2017 Chevrolet Impala, and Keoughan allegedly said “This is a test!” as he was tackled to the ground by another officer. In a statement, the U.S. Secret Service said it had “increased their posture of readiness” following the incident. The arrest is the second disturbance involving an attempted White House intruder in one week. President Donald Trump was not at the White House at the time.
