A domestic dispute inside a Wisconsin bank on Wednesday turned into a shooting spree that left a police officer and three others dead. The suspect, who is now in custody, fired shots in three locations—a bank, a law firm, and an apartment complex, police said. The shooting spree unfolded in three small towns near Wasau, about 90 miles from Green Bay. It ended around 5 p.m. in the town of Weston, after an hours-long standoff between the suspect and the SWAT team that triggered panic among residents. At an evening news conference, police gave no details on the victims or the suspect but said there was no longer a threat to the public. It was not immediately clear what the motive was, but police who first responded at the bank described it as a “domestic situation.” They said two people had already been shot by the time they arrived. The suspect then moved to a law firm in a neighboring town, followed by the apartment complex, where the standoff ended. Several schools and a local hospital were temporarily placed on lockdown. Jason Smith, a deputy administrator for the state Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation, said more than 100 officers are involved in an investigation into the incident, the Associated Press reported.
