French police in the city of Nice have questioned an 8-year-old boy who reportedly made comments in school defending the gunmen who attacked satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo. The boy, who was identified as Muslim, first attracted notice at school after refusing to observe the minute of silence honoring the victims of the Paris attack. Officials say he later lashed out at the newspaper’s journalists and defended the terrorists who attacked them. “The boy told his schoolteacher: ‘We must kill the French. I am with the terrorists. Muslims have done well. The journalists deserved to die,’” according to the deputy director of security in the Alpes-Maritimes department.
