Prada Casts Second Woman of Color: In June, Prada made a splash, casting its first African American model in a campaign in 19 years. Then-newcomer 19-year-old Malaika Firth fronted the brand's Fall/Winter 2013 campaign alongside major industry names including Christy Turlington and Freja Beha, making her the first African American face of Prada since Naomi Campbell in 1994. Now, for its Spring/Summer 2014 campaign, the brand has continued its path towards greater diversity, tapping young Wilhelmina model Cindy Bruna -- who most recently walked in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Miley Cyrus Covers LOVE Magazine in Pink Mohwawk: Could Miley's blonde 'do be a thing of the past? Following the singer's appearance in LOVE's Advent calendar -- penis underwear and all -- the magazine tapped Cyrus as the star of its Issue 11 cover, donning a pink mohawk and an up-close and personal view of her ear tattoo (which coincidentally reads "Love"). The debut of Cyrus's cover (on newstands in February), follows the singer's New York Times interview in which she addresses the Vogue magazine cover rumors. "I can't say too much," Cyrus tells Jon Caramanica. "But it was where I was kind of going to have to do this trade-off, and I wasn't willing to. Right now, me doing any kind of cover for anything that's like, a Seventeen or Teen Vogue or whatever, the way I talk isn't the way that people are 17 really understand." [Daily Mail]
Lady Gaga's Ex Threatens Lawsuit: Luc Carl, Lady Gaga's ex-boyfriend, has threatened to sue the popstar's longtime friend Brendan Jay Sullivan and his publisher, HarperCollins, over his recently released book, Rivington Was Ours: Lady Gaga, The Lower East Side, and The Prime of Our Lives. In the book, Sullivan describes Carl as "a negative influence on Gaga, dictating whom she could talk to and where she could work while he was 'distracted by a small coterie of drunk girls.'" Although Carl has admitted that he wasn't the ideal boyfriend, he is seeking legal action against the author and publisher for presenting him as a "villain." [Page Six]
Marc Jacobs Sports Technicolor Dreamcoat: Fashion designer Marc Jacobs was spotted in St. Barts rocking a wild and crazy technicolor dreamcoat from Prada's Spring/Summer 2014 collection while walking his dog. Jacobs, who had admitted that he loves the attention he receives from wearing outrageous ensembles, must have really loved the red, white, green, blue, and tan fur coat, since he sported it in 75-degree Caribbean weather.
