Prince Harry has issued a rallying call to the public to support his new paralympic-style event for injured servicemen and women, the Invictus Games, which will be stage in London in September.
Harry was inspired to promote the event after seeing members of Britain’s Armed Forces taking part in the Warrior Games in the USA last year.Harry, 29, told the London Evening Standard: “Ultimately, this is about the men and women who have given so much and deserve our support, in their recovery, rehabilitation and on leaving the armed forces.“In September the public has the chance to show that support in the sporting arena, where the same grit and determination that characterizes these tenacious men and women and their inspirational journeys of recovery — their invictus spirit — will make for a great occasion.“I know people will want to join me in cheering them on from the sidelines.”
